A medication savings program can significantly reduce your out-ofpocket expenses, but it is important to understand exactly what the program is designed to pay. Most programs focus on the eligible patient responsibility associated with medication that may include a deductible, co-ay, or co insurance after your insurance company process the claim. Some manufacturers also provide a separate benefit towards certain eligible costs associated with administering the medication. But this does not necessarily mean that every charge on your medical bill is covered. Office visits, physician evaluations, diagnostic testing, unrelated procedure, other medications and services outside the manufacturers's program are generally not eligible.

The program may also have an annual maximum benefit, a maximum amount for treatment, separate limits for administration expenses, claim submission deadlines, or other insurance and state specific restrictions. Once a program reaches its maximum benefits, additional assistant may no longer be available during the benefit period. The savings form also generally does not provide extra cash beyond the eligible amount owed. If the manufacturer denies the savings claim, the benefit has been exhausted, the expense isn't eligible or a submission deadline is missed. The unpaid amount may remain the patient responsibility.

That's why our team reviews the manufacturer's requirements and help eligible patients submit the appropriate documentation whenever we are able to manage the program on their behalf. If you have questions about your particular medication, ask us. We'll help you understand what the program may cover, what the limits are, and what you may still be responsible for.
